MYTH #1: Police Cars are Worn Out

Actually, agencies rotate their fleet around 100k miles. That used to be a death sentence for used cars, but these days, cars typically go for 250-300k miles. Further, while most folks shop around for the cheapest repair bill, government agencies do not, and replacement parts are almost always OEM. And this means a better car when it enters the used car market. Imagine the difference in owning a vehicle with 125,000 miles that is almost 100% genuine OEM parts compared to a similar vehicle that has had mostly aftermarket and poor quality Autozone or Amazon parts installed. OEM is always best but usually cost prohibitive for the typical owner.

MYTH #2: Police Cars have had a rough life

Not necessarily. While some cars have been used as takedown cars or sacrificed in an attempt to stop the "bad guy"... those cars are few and far between. They are always easy to spot, and never make it to our lot. Our cars are inspected before we buy them, and in most cases maintenance records are reviewed showing the "money is no object" maintenance attitude that has been documented since it was new. I'd rather own these cars than the civilian version with questionable maintenance history and years of neglected repairs by a cash strapped previous owner.

MYTH #3: Police Cars are Low Optioned

While it's true police cars typically won't have the latest Bose infotainment system with turn-by-turn navigation... they will have all government mandated safety features. Besides, there are a lot of aftermarket options for audio and navigation that are better and more customizable. Imagine paying way more for a civilian trim level with the navigation and spoiler... then removing those parts to put on the latest aftermarket mods... So what you paid all that extra $$$ for is sitting in a pile and no one wants to buy them because they already have the factory stuff on their car. Our cars are like a blank canvas. With the money you save, you'll be able to mod the car into whatever you want.
